Obituary of Stephen l. Pace
Stephen (Steve) Leon Pace, 72. He was born to Willard Milton Pace and Patricia Audrey Pace on July 24, 1943 in Minot, North Dakota. He went to be with our Lord on May 18, 2016. He soon moved with his parents to Washington State where he grew up for most of his life, mainly in the Tacoma area. His mother Patricia remarried in 1949 to James J Gallagher.
He served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany from Sept. 1960 until 1965. He married his first wife Jan Morton in 1964 and then married his second wife Carol Pace in 1977.
Steve was a well known author in The History of Aviation. He wrote and published 33 books in his 32 years of writing. He also published over 120 articles for Aviation magazines. His love for airplanes and aviation came through in his words as he wrote each of his books. He called his writings, A LABOR OF LOVE. He enjoyed working on his trucks and cars. And spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his wife Carol Pace and daughters Terri Lynn Pace, Victoria Pace, step children Gary Morton, Ted Tennison, Diana (Jaun) Gonzalez, Carrie Tennison, and Joe Tennison. His siblings Deanna Pace Johns, Eileen Mulcahy, Jim (Kim) Gallagher, Patty and Bill Whitman, Sheri and Terry Schimke, Mary Fuller and Jeanne Gallagher. He had 9 nieces and nephews from his side of the family and he had 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Willard Pace, his mother Patricia Pace Gallagher, his step father James Gallagher, his first wife Jan Morton and brother Joe Gallagher.
A memorial will be held at the family home in Tacoma on June 5th at 1pm.
