Obituary of Allen Richard Guizzetti

Saturday, October 3rd 2015, at 1:10 a.m. Allen "Al" Richard Guizzetti passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA with his family at his bedside. He was born October 10th, 1948 in Tacoma, WA to John and Althea Guizzetti. Allen was 66 years old. Growing up in the family restaurant business "Giovanni's" in Tacoma, WA, Allen learned early on what it meant to work hard in the restaurant business. This work ethic followed him throughout his life. His first position outside of the family business was with Uncle Henry Brown (Aurelia Guizzetti) at Kenworth Trucking. He also worked as a Chef at the Officers Club at McChord Air Force Base --Allen joked that he did not know how to cook lobster when he went there but he learned quick. Allen joined the local 104 Seattle Shipping Yard and worked at Todd shipyards as a boilermaker for over 20 years and served as shop steward. He later moved to the local 502 Union in Tacoma, WA. Allen is survived by his wife Bridget who has been at his side 24 years; daughters Tonja Clark and Kimberly Guizzetti, both of Modesto, CA; grandchildren Landon, Breann and Dillon Clark and Joel Allen (Lory) Guizzetti; five great grandchildren and one on the way. In addition, Allen is survived by his mother Althea; brothers, John (Carolyn) of Tucson, AZ, Jerry (Sheila) of Bremerton, WA, and Jim of Tacoma, WA; sisters Peggy (Roy) Kunkel of Tacoma, WA, Mary (Jud) Bordman of Tucson, AZ, and Sandy (Craig) Carleton of Everett, WA; numerous nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his father John, his brother Thomas and his grandson, Johny Clark. Donations may be given to the American cancer society or any charity of the donor's choice. We are grateful for the memories of Allen and the special place in his heart he had for family; he will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.
