Peggy Guizzetti Kunkel posted a condolence

When someone we love dies, there is a sadness, quiet silence not understanding why. Losing a brother is such a sad event. Born October 10,1948 in Tacoma, WA, Allen was just 66 years old, when he passed away October 3, 2015, just a week shy of his 67th birthday.
However, Allen's life gave us memories so beautiful, we don't want to forget. Growing up in the restaurant business, Dad and Mom provided us with the groundwork of knowing how to work hard, but also to play hard. Allen was one of 6 brothers and 5 sisters born to John and Althea Guizzetti.
We had so many fun childhood memories growing up. As his sister, I knew too well what the twinkling meant in those beautiful clear blue eyes. Some of you may not know this, but Allen had a mischievous side, almost defiant at times. His contagious smile, those twinkling blue eyes was a huge clue that something was about to happen.
Dad's brothers, Louie and Joe, and his sister Aurelia lived in Washington so we often saw them weekly. The whole family would come and we would get to play with our cousins. One eventful Sunday, the cousins decided to play hide and seek. The parents were in the restaurant talking so we were pretty much on our own. We all drifted to our favorite hiding places but the boys decided to hide on the roof of the restaurant. Benny our dog followed them. The people in the restaurant heard the footsteps on the roof and wanted to know what was going on. I don't think we would have been caught if Benny had not been on the roof.
As an adult, Allen was always smiling and had that infectious little laugh. He was also very very competitive. On one occasion, he was playing tennis with our brother. It was a great match. Although Allen was not very good at playing tennis, he wanted to win so bad, it was tough to beat him.
Allen was a Chef at McChord Air Force base. When he got the job, he was determined to be the best. When they told him to make lobster, he was set back for a moment but met the challenge and because he was also a quick learner, he did it.
During his recent stay in the hospital, he was sleeping much of the time. Sometimes you may not know if he knew you were there. When I arrived, he opened his eyes and said "Hi Peg", then closed them again. Allen loved the Seahawks so I brought him this cute little Seahawks bear. I was not sure he knew I was even there let alone brought him the little Seahawks bear. Butthe next day Bridget called & said Al wanted her to call me and thank me again for the little Seahawks bear and to let me know he loved the bear.
The gift of his life will always be in our memories. His contagious smile will always be in our hearts. Although he has passed to a better place, he left an amazing legacy, his wife, Bridget, his 2 daughters, Tonja and Kimberly and his grandchildren. I will always remember Allen lived.
