Obituary of Victor L. Amet

Victor L. Amet passed away peacefully on May 21, 2013 at the age of 94. Born Dec. 19, 1918 to Albert V. Amet and Amalya Amet Mock, in Santa Monica, CA, later moving to the Puget Sound area. He was proud to be a Pearl Harbor survivor, in the U.S. Navy serving as Quartermaster onboard several submarines, for ten war patrols. He successfully ran Victor L. Amet Insurance Agency in Tacoma from 1948-1984. He began his own construction company, building and remodeling many homes around Puget Sound, while still running his insurance business. He was a long time member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge #174, Tacoma Pot and Kettle Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Victor loved to dance, play cards and travel the world. Victor is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Faye J. Amet, brother Albert Amet and sister Marie Matson. Victor is survived by his sons, Victor L. Amet Jr. (Shirley), Edward M. Amet (Joan), James A. Amet (Liz) daughter Patricia E. Amet-Smith (Ed) and his loving wife of 16 years LaVilla Amet, who gave him the love and support he needed in his final years, along with the Bouffiou family, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother Ray Amet (Barb), sister Cherie Rouse (Hal) and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service to be held at 1 PM, Wed. May 29, in the Piper Morley with Oakwood Hill Funeral Chapel, 253-472-3353
