You were always there for my family and will sorely be missed. You treated me as a son and I revered you as a father. I will never forget all the good times we had together and the memories they created. You are in GOD's hands now. May he be as good to you as you were to me. Your Nephew, Gary

Rita and family, My condolences. I offered Mass over the weekend and this morning for your husband, Dad, and grandfather. I know his suffering has ended, but his passing still a great loss. I will remember you in your prayers. He and my brother Bud are probably telling a few stories and if our Mom's are nearby doing so quietly. But then there's Jerry plus your Dad and brother to add their two bits. Rita, give me a call or e-mail me. I lost your phone number, so leave it next time, okay. Love, Your Cousin, Mike

Having Uncle Roger, Aunt Rita, Karen and Mark coming back to visit was always a highpoints in family get together. He enjoyed life and shared that passion with all he met. He made you feel special. I will remember my visits to Washington both as a single young lady and with my family. I know he is up in heaven, kicking up the dance floor with those who preceded him and waiting joyfully for those who will one day join him. May his passion live on in all who remember him.

Uncle Roger's smile, enthusiasm and warmth always lit up our house when he came to visit. I loved playing the "walk up Uncle Roger" game. He would hold my hands and let me walk up his legs and then wrap me in big hug. I still feel special everytime that memory plays in my mind. He will be missed, but never forgotten. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Cherished Memories, Patty Shingledecker Bolhuis

I wish Scott and I could be there to celebrate Roger's life with you. We are deeply saddened by his passing. My funny story about Roger is my earliest memory of him. Rita and Roger had come to Indiana for a visit. Roger kissed my mother hello. I was very young, maybe 3 or 4,and had no idea who this strange man was kissing my mother! I was very indignant and suspicious of him.It was only later that I understood Roger's exuberance for his family and have found myself wrapped up in such a hug and a kiss. That will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
