Obituary of Evelyn Lucille Morris

Evelyn Lucille (Crawford) Morris of Greenwater, Washington, passed away peacefully at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, on April 25, 2009, after a 3-year battle with cancer. She was 77 years old. She was born March 20, 1932, in Pomeroy, Washington. She graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1950. Evelyn married Delbert Webber Morris on November 9, 1950. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Delbert; her brothers Phillip Crawford and Ed Crawford of Pomeroy, WA, John Crawford of Enumclaw, WA, and Jim Crawford of Tacoma, WA; her sister Eleanor Bingman of Pomeroy, WA; and her children and grandchildren: her daughter Susan Routh and her husband Don, grandchildren Michael Routh and Kimberly Routh; her daughter Brenda Penner and her husband Randy, granddaughters Angelica Penner; her daughter Cynthia Morris and her companion Steve Lowry; her daughter Debra Ramirez and her husband Andy, grandchildren Jacob Russell, Paul Ramirez and Hannah Ramirez; and countless cousins, nieces & nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her father, Thiron Riley Crawford, her mother, Hazel Brenda (Colwell) Crawford, and her brother William Lloyd Crawford. Evelyn will be deeply missed by all. She touched countless lives with her loving and caring nature. Evelyn always lived life to the fullest and loved spending time outdoors. She loved motorcycling, snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, working in her yard, chopping wood and using her chainsaw. When she was finally sitting down, she loved crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles. Evelyn was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed just visiting with her friends and loved ones. Evelyn has done so much for so many people that it would be impossible to list every life she touched. When they say someone has a heart of gold, that was Evelyn. She was always quick with a smile and that knowing twinkle in her eye. Evelyn was a feisty, warm and cheerful soul. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and most of all friend. She will be forever in our hearts.
