I give my heartfelt sympathy to Char's family and friends. I am a judge with Social Security. When Char first came to work at our office, she was assigned to be my clerk. We worked very closely together, her desk was right outside my office. She was special. She was bright, cheerful and had an excellent sense of humor. She brightened my days as I am sure she brightened those of her family and friends. She was later promoted to a paralegal position which involved difficult legal writing. She did a job similar to that of many lawyers in our office. She did well on that job also, but unfortunately, I had less and less contact with her. I was unaware of her illness and shocked by her death. She helped make my life more pleasant for a period of time and I missed her when she was promoted. I will miss her more now. My life is better for having known her.
