Obituary of John Andrew Bulldis
John Bulldis, son of Sam and Hazel Bulldis, passed on 2 April
2018 from pneumonia in Olympia. John is survived by his
children with his first wife Catherine: Deborah, Cynthia, Steven(Lois), Nick(Jackie),Mike, and
John(Maryann). He is also survived by brothers
George and Jim. He was a shellfish farmer at National Fish and
Oyster, a family owned business, most of his life. John once
owned Veteran's Garage in Lakewood, served in the National
Guard and worked at Fick Foundry for a time. He loved baseball
and played local minor league ball in the 60's and 70's. Whether
league bowling or playing a game of pool, he enjoyed being with
friends. As John neared retirement, he battled with cancer and
won. While he slowed down a bit, he moved forward on his life
journey with companion Judy Ray. Recovery from cancer allowed
John retirement years to enjoy life events with his children and
many grandchildren. He became involved with Judy's family:
Lisa, Jenni(Keith), Jeff(Yvonne), and their children. And,
retirement brought opportunities for travel, gardening on the bay,
Sea Hawks, Mariners and spending a lot of time at the Casino. We
will all miss his sense of humor, concern for others, and love of
life. A grave side service at Old Tacoma Cemetery on April 21 at
2pm with a celebration of life to follow at the Eagles #3 across the
street.
