Obituary of Caroline Marie Rimbach
Caroline Rimbach was born December 26, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to Rev. Raymond and Viola Rimbach. She died after a brief hospitalization on July 4, 2017 at Tacoma General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John E. Rimbach and the Rev. Dr. James A. Rimbach. She is survived by her sister Dr. Evangeline Rimbach of Tacoma, nephew Christian Rimbach of Marion, Ohio, Heidi Seitz of Westchester, Ohio, and several cousins.
Her early childhood was spent in Port Angeles, WA where she attended elementary and high school. Upon graduation from high school in Stockton, CA, she continued her studies at Pacific Lutheran University and Valparaiso University.
Her working career began in San Francisco where she worked for the American Can Co., the FBI, and the state inheritance tax appraiser. Upon moving back to the Pacific Northwest, she became the personal secretary to Governor John Spellman in Olympia in 1981. Upon his leaving office, she continued to work for the Governor in his law office in Seattle until her retirement in 2000.
Caroline was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community.
