Obituary of Wendy Jones
Deaconess Wendy Jones was born on June 1, 1954 in Tacoma, WA. She was the middle of five children born to Gussie (Wester) and Charles Jackson, Sr.
In 1982 she married William Jones and their union brought forth three surviving children, Jannica, April, and Daniece. Her husband William and daughter Gussie Pearl preceded her in death.
Shortly after her graduation from Wilson High School she attended Knapp Business College and Bates Technical College in the Legal Assistant program. She began her career with Pierce County after completing training at both schools. Wendy worked in the juvenile and superior courts and retired after 28 years in the Prosecutor's Office as a Legal Assistant.
Wendy was a true believer in God, she became a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church as a young teen and did all that she could to serve the Lord. She loved singing gospel music in the choir, served as Deaconess and worked in the Women's Department. Wendy was known to be active in her church and the North Pacific Baptist Convention over the years. She also enjoyed baking, sewing and spending time with her family and Pomeranians Ginger and Sabre.
In addition to her children, Wendy leaves behind to celebrate her life: her brothers Richard Leonard (Shirley), Harvey Leonard (Paula), Charles Jackson (Kimberly), sister Elise Jackson, her grandson Roman Cruz "Ro Ro", nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Wendy was an incredible woman of God and will be greatly missed by all.
