Obituary of Margaretta L. Hardin

Margaretta L. Hardin was born April 27, 1939 in Oroville, WA, the third of four children born to Cleo and Flossie Pickle. She passed away August 13, 2016 in Tacoma, at the age of 77. Margaretta was raised in the Tacoma/Puyallup area, and attended Puyallup schools. She married Ulysses Hardin and together they raised three children, Dwayne, Christine and Mary. Ulysses was a U.S. Army veteran of 35 years. He also served in the National Guard (Civil Service) and assisted in rescue efforts when Mt. St. Helens erupted. During these years Margarette was at home, caring for her husband and children. Her children were the sunshine of her life, and raising them well was a priority. She was known for her strong spirit, feisty personality and "tell it like it is" approach to life. In recent years she has been a resident of Heartwood Extended Care, and enjoyed sharing coffee , news sessions, BINGO and weekly Yahtzee with her friends. Family members include son, Dwayne (Heide); daughter Mary; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses in 1993, and daughter Christine.
