Obituary of William Douglas Green
William Green was born on October 24, 1935, to the parentage of the late James Douglas "JD" and Arthel Green of Anniston, Alabama At an early age he dedicated his life to Christ. He was a faithful member of Allen AM&E Church until his health failed him.
He was a graduate of Cobb High School, class of 1954. After graduation, he immediately enlisted with the US Army and began his new career. He faithfully served his country in Korea and VietNam. After retiring from the military after 24 years he was employed with the US Postal Service for 20 years prior to retirement. William was a member of Cassia Lodge #5 F&AM and a life member of Phylaxis Society

William and Dorothy married in 1962 and from this union he became the father of two sons, Gene and Reginald. On the evening of August 26. 2015 William departed into the presence of the Lord. While his family mourns the loss of a loving husband and father, they yet celebrate his homegoing.
He leaves to cherish his memory Dorothy, his wife of 53 years; son Gene (Lorene) of Houston, TX; granddaughters Ashley and Yolonda of Houston, Lanetrice (Harold) of Austin TX; grandsons Mark (Dartania) of Cypress, TX and John of Dallas, TX; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Carrie Ann Walls of Anniston, AL, Forrest S. Bennett of Washington, DC; sisters-in-law Lucille Williams and Mary Shelton (Leroy) of Houston, TX and Emma Jean Callis of El Campo, TX; Niece Sharon of Atlanta, GA and a host of nephews , cousins, and other relatives.
William was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Theresa and Mary Jean; brother Simon; son Reginald Green.
