Obituary of Eleonore L. Gregory

Eleonore (Ellen) Luise Gregory passed away peacefully on August 20th, at home in the care of her family. Ellen was born September 21, 1936 in Mannheim, Germany. She made Tacoma her home for the last 48 years. She will be greatly missed by her family: her husband John; her daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Alan; her grandchildren, Nikolai and Clara; and her sister, Edith Moore. Throughout her life, she shared her exuberance and compassion with the many who became her friends and the community around her. Eleonore had a lifelong passion for learning languages as the key to other people and cultures and had a love of the arts, particularly dance and song. She embraced fair treatment and acceptance of all people and animals, which guided her life's path and mirrored her belief in the people and the world around her. There will be a celebration of Eleonore at Raynor Chapel (Annie Wright Schools - 827 North Tacoma Ave) on August 30th at 4:30pm.
