Obituary of Andrew T. Manos
Andy "Papou" Manos was born December 28, 1920 in Tacoma, WA. and passed away on February 11th, 2015.
Andy graduated from Stadium High School in 1939, and attended the College of Puget Sound, before entering the Air Force, as a Navigator. Returning to Tacoma, he married his wife Evelyn Manos and became a commercial fisherman in Washington and Alaska. During the off season, Andy loved sport fishing. He was known for taking fresh fish to all his family and friends all times of the year. He also worked many odd-jobs to support his off season fishing. He painted the Narrows Bridge, built facilities such as the long-gone Tacoma Mall Theater and worked at Tacoma Boat. He was known for his welding skills and as being a "jack of all trades". During the Christmas season, he would make the rounds of the cemetery and friends delivering wreaths he made for the holidays.
He is survived by his son Theodore (Donna), of Arizona and grandchildren Dionne and Telly. He lived with his daughter, Olga and grandchildren, Andrew and Nicholas, along with his cat, Buster, for many years. He will be missed! Andrew's family wants to thank Mayra's family and Hospice for taking care of him these last couple of months. They are all angels!
