Obituary of Berna Marie Cusato

Berna Marie Cusato was a Valentine baby- born on Feb. 14, 1932 in Tacoma to Magurite and Adelbert Harrell. She passed on Feb. 6, 2015 in Tacoma. She was preceded in death by brothers Charles and Alfred, surviving Sister Ruth Charaba of Arizona. She is survived by her loving family. The love of her life and husband Joe of 49 years, daughters, Carla Lee of Gig Harbor, Mary Ballard of Prescott, Judy Letzring (Gary) of Olympia and step son Jeff Cusato of Tacoma. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandkids and many nieces and nephews. Berna graduated from Puyallup High School. She worked with W.H. Opie Real Estate and Tacoma Savings Bank, now Umpqua Bank. Berna enjoyed bowling with Joe and they bowled in many leagues. After retirement they did a lot of traveling, winters in Yuma, AZ., two trips to Alaska, the Florida Keys and Cape Cod. They went across Canada, then later to Cabo San Lucas. They also enjoyed the trip of a lifetime to Italy, touring Joe's home country for two wonderful weeks. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church 5510 N. 44th St. on 12PM Friday, Feb 13, viewing prior to the mass. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment at Calvary Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to Bellarmine Scholarship Fund or charity of your choice.
