Obituary of Marie A. Erker

Marie passed peacefully from this life the evening of December 29th after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Marie was born in Montevideo, MN, and after marrying Al on February 6th, 1940 in Selfridge, North Dakota, they moved to Tacoma in 1945. They resided in WA the rest of their lives. They owned and operated the family farm until 1975. To this union were four children. Al passed away on October 28th of 1996. Marie enjoyed gardening, gold panning, and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed her children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of which brought her great joy. Marie is predeceased by her husband and two sons, Allen Erker and Richard Erker. She is survived by two children: Joann Baroh (Erker), husband Steve deceased, Vicki Pfau (Erker) and husband Robert. Eleven grandchildren: Bonnie Ugland, Tina Rasmus, Alan Erker Jr., Annie Johnson, Holly Erker, Christi Erker, Stephanie Santos, Tracy Shipman, Jeff Baroh, Amy Fairbanks, and Cody Fairbanks, and 15 great grandchildren. Rosary will be recited January 9th at 6:00 at Piper-Morley with Oakwood Hill Funeral Home 5436 South Puget Sound Ave. Tacoma and celebration of her life will be held on January 10th at 11:00 at the funeral home. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery following the funeral. We will miss your smile, your caring, your grace, your humor, but most of all, you.
