Obituary of Bernice Eveline Ehnat

Bernice E. Ehnat, born May 26, 1920 to Walter and Sylva Murphy, passed away October, 4, 2014. She married Joseph J. Ehnat on September 6, 1938 and moved into their McKinley Hill residence where they raised their four children. Bernice was very active in the St. Joseph Parish and belonged to the Circle 2 Ladies group for many years. She was well known in her neighborhood, having worked at Boyle's Variety Store and later for the Washington State Liquor Department. She will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her many kind acts including her famous Sunday pancake breakfasts, where all were welcome. Bernice is survived by her sons, Gerald, Donald, and Thomas (Elizabeth), son-in law, Alex Leon Brockwell, and daughter-in-law, Lynn Stone. She was blessed with eighteen grandchildren, and many great, and great-great grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, her daughter Dolores, her daughter-in-law Leanne (Don), her brother Calvin Murphy and sister Hazel Jackson. Rosary, Wednesday, October 15, 2014, 7:00 pm, and Funeral Mass, Thursday, October 16, 2014, 11:00 am, St Joseph Catholic Church, 608 S. 34th St, Tacoma, WA.
