Obituary of Virginia Mae Glaser

Virginia Mae (Mamlock) Glaser passed away Sept. 24, 2014 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born Dec. 20, 1930 to Henry and Gertrude Mamlock; her parents and three siblings preceded her in death. She lived in Tacoma most of her life, but spent her last years in Vancouver, Wa. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leonard G. Glaser, three daughters, Janice E. (Robert) Evalt of Belfair, Wa., Joan M. (David) Ransier and Nancy D. (Dale) Smith both of La Center, Wa., eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She attended Grant, Jason Lee, and Stadium schools, graduating in 1948. She worked in bookkeeping at A.E. Mulligan Co., Munson-Smith Motors, Day's Clothing, and ABM Maintenance. Virginia enjoyed many hobbies and was exceptionally good at all of them. She had a beautiful singing voice and shared her love of the piano with her daughters. She knit beautiful sweaters, crocheted, and sewed immaculately. She loved computers and was fascinated by new technology. In her later years she and Leonard enjoyed travelling in their RV and spent many winters in Arizona. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a kind, affectionate wife and mother, and will be greatly missed. Service will be held at Piper Morley with Oakwood Hill Chapel on October 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM. 5436 S. Puget Sound, Tacoma 253-472-3353. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
