Obituary
Obituary of Alice A. Munoz
Alice A. Munoz passed away peacefully September 4, 2014. Born December 18, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas to Jose and A. Garza. She was raised in Saginaw, Michigan where she met and married Charles Munoz. They moved to Southern California and started a family. Alice was a homemaker in her early years raising her children. She loved gardening, canning, camping and fishing. She would make tortillas to feed the scores of children that came through her home. To this day people talk about going to her house and having tortillas fresh off the griddle as an after school snack. Her favorite thing to do every Saturday morning was to get up early and find a precious treasure at a good garage sale. The last 20 years she lived in Washington State to be near her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active participant all of their lives, they were her everything. Nothing brought her more joy than being able to share a single moment with each of them, it was the giggle in the distance, a quiet grin or the school choir recital. Her gardening skills were admired by everyone who knew her; she could make anything grow. She spent many hours in her family's gardens spreading her talents. Alice had a strong Catholic faith that grew over the years. She held onto her faith up to her last breath. She is preceded by her parents and brother. Survived by children, Kathi Morley, Teri Garofalo, Mike Munoz and Patricia Munoz; brother Roy; sister Minnie; grandchildren Gregory and Joseph Dyck, Valerie Bickerdike, Nina and Alex Garofalo, Kellen Morley, Angelo and Joseph Garofalo and great grandchildren Madison and Cyrus Dyck, Nolan and Roslyn Bickerdike and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 11, 2014 at St. Columban Catholic Church in Yelm WA
