Obituary of Delois V. Barry
Delois Virginia Weatherall was born June 3, 1925 to the union of Charlie and Ossie Lee Weatherall in New Albany, MS. Delois was the eldest sibling of two sisters. She faithfully attended Zion Chapel in New Albany during her youth. She also completed high school at BF Ford.
Delois met her late husband A.D. Barry at a high school function and just before her graduation they were married March 10, 1945. In 1946 A.D. and Delois moved to Tacoma where A.D. was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. Upon his discharge from Ft. Lewis, they decided to make their home in Tacoma. From their union, four children were born.
She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and served Him in many capacities. She loved to sing in the choir, participate in Sunday School activities, as well as other Christian activities such as nurturing the sick, visiting hospitals and nursing homes of her Christian family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and willingly gave fruits and vegetables not only to her family but also to her church family and friends.
Her husband A. D. and youngest daughter Charlotte Barry precede her in their journey home. But Delois leaves, one son, Dennis (Delores) Barry, two daughters Grace (John) Laster, Denise (Earl) Logan, all of Washington, a loving sister, Nettie Hayes Dunn, New Albany, MS, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren to celebrate her life and pass on her continued influence in the world.
