Obituary of Rina D. Morley

Rina D. Morley passed away May 26, 2014. Born in Tripoli, Libya, Rina lived her earlier years in Milano and Bologna, Italy before coming to the US in the early 1960s. She was an avid world traveler, visiting France and many other European countries as well as Israel and Africa before settling in Tacoma, WA where she met and married Frederick Morley, her husband of 37 years. She continued to visit Italy and France where most of her family still lives. Rina was a true businesswoman, building a successful funeral business in Tacoma with Fred for over 30 years. Rina always had a vision and purpose for everything she did. One of her business ventures included being a founding member of N.W. Community Bank and serving as a director. She later became the Pierce County liaison for Venture Bank for many years. Rina was very active in the Tacoma community, supporting many organizations such as the Children's Home Society and especially the one dearest to her heart, The Sons of Italy Lodge #1175, holding the position of President for two terms. She was a member of the Daughter's of Penelope, Tacoma Elks Lodge and participated in numerous committees at Fircrest Golf Club. Rina was a strong woman who knew how to get things done, yet she was also a woman with a BIG heart. She was a social magnet, always at the ready to help anyone in need, and lived her life to the fullest. She adored her many friends and took pleasure in entertaining them at her beautiful Gig Harbor estate. She was always the life of the party with her jokes and hospitality. Rina loved to dance and sing and did so at many events. She loved spending time at their Rancho Mirage getaway and soaking up the sun during the winter months. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rina's parents and brothers preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Fred, her son that she adored, Alex Spearman (Cotton Clarke), step children Greg Morley and Lisa (Tony) Orzechowski, sister Irma Guetta Uzzielli, sisters in-law Rosalba Calo, Nicoletta and Rita all of Milano, grandchildren Jennifer (Craig) Thompson, Tyler Orzechowski, Alyssa, Anthony and Kellen Morley (Kellen's mom Kathi), great grandchildren Hailey and Gavin Thompson, several nieces and nephews located around the world, her special niece Sonia of Tel-Aviv, Israel, and her beloved puppy, Joey. "Suggestion to my friends…Don't take life for granted. Live everyday the best you can." A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church June 3rd at 10:30 am, Rosary will be recited prior to the Mass at 10:15.
