Mike was coaching @ UNI when they advertised for a football secretary. I applied and to my surprise, got an interview. When I came in for the interview Mike was trying to tell me how it was in the office. He was trying so hard to find the words to explain that I may hear some profanity or other things. He kept stumbling over his words and I finally leaned forward in my chair, looked him straight in the eye and said..."Look, I grew up around truckers and cowboys. There isn't anything that you or anyone else might say to offend me, I may say something that will offend you." That was pretty much the end of our interview. I was told I would hear in about two weeks if I got the job or not. Two days later I got a call with a job offer. Mike was a great guy to work for. He came across a little on the gruff side, but he always treated me good and never talked gruff to me. I was sad when he left and missed him terribly b/c he was always "on my side".
