Robert J. Taylor (aka Bob, Bubba or Pappa), 59, was found in the early morning hours on Friday, August 16th, unresponsive and not breathing. After CPR attempts from his wife Connie Taylor and the Tacoma Medics, it was determined that Bob had suffered a heart attack and died soon after.
Bob was born on July 13, 1954 to Ann and Jay Taylor in Brooklyn New York. He attended St Joan de Arc grade school,Jackson Heights Middle School, Scarsdale High School, and Sairleigh Dickson University.
Bob married Connie Ponzo (aka Aulabaugh) on July 3, 1993. Bob was a loving and attentive husband to Connie. Bob wanted her to have the best of everything and her happiness is what brought him the most joy as he constantly showered her with gifts and surprises up until the evening before his death. Bob and Connie had just celebrated 20 wonderful years of Marriage.
The last 8 years Bob spent working with his wife Connie building a very successful small business that she will continue to operate. Bobs career also included being a Federal Immigration Officer and Washington State Corrections Officer, but the job that brought him the most pride was being a Soldier in the United State Army. During his 13 years of service, he was a Drill Instructor and served in the Gulf War seeing the liberation of Kuwait. Bob was awarded over 30 medals and Awards during his time of service.
Bob had no biological children but proudly claimed his wife Connie Taylor's children as his own. Raymond Ponzo 31, Robert Ponzo 28, and Chelsea Ponzo 26, grieve for the father they lost, but because of his love for his children and his love to teach, they will carry his insight and knowledge on with them forever. Bob was truly a special father to them.
Bob demanded the best in life. He traveled the world, stayed at only the best hotels. He had two homes, a boat and an RV. Bob had fond memories of his Porsche and Corvette while serving tours in Germany, Cadillac's and a Hummer filled his driveway at the time of his death. Either gold or King Baby was stacked around his neck and down his wrist. Custom made cowboy boots coordinated with his immaculate shirts and pressed jeans. Yes, Bob loved his "Bling" and loved to give to others, but all those worldly possessions were left behind. It was when Bob became a Christian in 2012 that he truly became rich. And it was on the day of his death that the sight of his Heavenly Father and all the heavenly treasures awaiting him -Truly Took His Breath Away.
