It was the year 1947 and I was the Assistant Manager at Moses,a personal apparel shop for women that was downtown on Broadway in Tacoma, WA. In walked Despina Hallis, my cousin with a frightened young girl newly arrived from Greece. It was Emilia. She had just married my first cousin, Mike. We outfitted her with new lingerie, stockings, etc. From that moment on she became my cousin and a life-long friend. Every Sunday after church Mike would save us a table to sit at coffee hour. We worked side by side working on the bazaar for many years. She was very interesting, kind and funny. I moved to Yakima several years ago but I think of Emilia and Mike often. I am sorry for your loss. May her memory be eternal. All my love, Cousin Ethel.
