Obituary of Clement L Rush

Clement Rush March 7, 1924 to July 25, 2013 Clem Rush was born to Virgil & Florence Rush in Salem, Oregon and moved to Tacoma, WA at the age of 3. He was a proud WWII Veteran who served in the "Battle of the Bulge". In 1947 he married his best friend and the love of his life, Dottie Stedham. Once married, the couple moved to Oakland, California, so that Clem could attend the Art Institute of California. While in school, Clem took a job at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco as a Bellman. They returned to Tacoma in 1948 and Clem went to work at the Olympus Hotel. In 1962 he began his career at the SeaTac Hilton Hotel. Throughout these years, Clem pursued his lifelong passion of being an artist and eventually his oil paintings gained worldwide status. Most notably, his works were featured in the Puyallup Fair, the Hilton Hotel, and purchased by celebrities such as Conrad Hilton and Clint Eastwood. Clem retired in 1990 as Superintendent of Service from the Hilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dottie, his sisters, Maribel & Helen, and his son-in-law Roger Lundberg. Clem is survived by his daughter, Julie Lundberg, son Randy Rush, granddaughters Kelcey (Rob) Harris and Allison Lundberg, great grandchildren Brady, Kylie, and Noah Harris. Also Nephews Kenny & Bob Hoerling, Jack Bixel, and life long best friend Bob Howard. On August 7 at 12 PM, a memorial for Clem will be held at the Oakwood Hill Cemetery, 5210 South Alder, Tacoma, WA, with a reception following at his home at 7107 East Roosevelt, Tacoma, WA.
