First let me say this: Our Thoughts & Prayers are with you Christine & your Family in your time of loss. I am so very sorry for your loss of George. You probably remember me as Deborah Long that lived next door to you when you lived in Carlsbad. I still treasure the Bird Music Box when we exchanged Christmas Presents. I am now remarried and living in Palmdale, CA. My Husband and I are both finally Retired. My email is slave2dawg@aol.com if you ever want to get a hold of me. Love You Christine, Debbie

At least twice a week the phone would ring, "what are you doing," George would say...
"Making Breakfast..."
"WHAT are you doing that for?!!!"
"GET OVER HERE -- we're going to Norma's!!"
If we had $5.00 in the bank, we would go to breakfast!!!
What good memories!
Our kids were young and we had such fun! George had a great sense of humor, so much bluster, but always there next door (across the creek) when needed. Remember the garden we had together? (Full of weeds until George had mercy and rolled out some plastic for me...) Right now I'm wrapped snugly in one of "Gummy's" Quilts! Oh how we love your family and send our love. Special love to Christine, he was such a strong person, we know you will miss him so much.
His faith was bold and strong. My children also loved him dearly.
Love,
Wiley and Dorothy Prentice

George hired me as an inter at PremAir back in '01. As a young enthusiast of the aviation world it was wonderful to have a man of his caliber and experience take me under his wing. He had a big heart and I learned a lot from him. The age difference between he and I brought many a jokes at the office and simulator until one late night session. On short final I couldn't get down on the glideslope for a landing so George popped up from the instructor's chair and shoved me out of the captain's seat saying "Let me show you how it's done, boy." He wrestled the controls to make the a/c do what he wanted, dropped out of the sky, chirped the main gear then the nose gear and he still have enough runway to go around! After that we decided that no matter how old he was, he could still fly better than most birds. We'll miss you, GW.
