Obituary of Dennis Scott Gores
In the early morning hours of March 20, 2013, our beloved father, family member, and friend peacefully passed after a five-year battle with liver disease and cancer. We're thankful to have celebrated his 55th birthday with him on March 17. Dennis was born and raised in a loving family in University Place, WA. After graduating from Curtis High in 1976, he began his career in the construction industry and was very proud to be a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 612, for over 25 years.
Dennis is survived by his cherished son and daughter, Christopher Patrick and Kaitlyn Nicole, his father Don, brother Donnie and former wife Pam. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen, and sister Patty. Dennis will also be missed by his Auntie Sharon, cousins Lenny & Sonia, and cousin Emmy. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Steve Stringfellow, Trish Long, Mark Knisely, Brad Arnold, Ted Pitz, and Suzie O'Brien for their active involvement in Dennis's care and comfort in his final weeks.
Dennis was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and boating, clam digging, camping, hunting, golfing, and in early years, motocross racing. He was also passionate about animals, music, and sports.
Dennis was kind, caring, and considerate, with a great sense of humor. He was always there for those in need and loved his kids most of all.
Memorial services will be at Piper-Morley with Oakwood Hill Funeral Home (253-472-3353) at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6
