Obituary of Edward Merkling

Edward Anthony Merkling September 11, 1919 - November 13, 2012 Born in Buffalo, New York His memorial/tributes will be held Thursday night at the Jade Palace Karaoke, and then on Friday Karaoke time at The Village Assisted Living Home 3pm, then again on Saturday night at karaoke at Johnny's in Fife. Our Dearest Edward went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday morning at 11:15. Amazingly his physical body was in very good shape, but low energy due to low iron count which prevented him from doing the things he loved and needed to do. He filled our lives with such richness and blessings it was an honor to have him. He was in perfect peace and in no pain on his passing and we look forward to seeing him again. Our adopted Father is now with both of our natural fathers and mothers in heaven awaiting us. We miss them and love them and look forward to being with them all again. He is survived by Roy and Roma Gerle, and their dog Royal Sterling, and all the many, many friends he made at karaoke, The Jade Palace, LaPalma, Johnny's at Fife, Dave's of Milton and The Village Assisted Living Facility and the bowling alleys. He loved to bowl and was still bowling until 3 months ago. He loved to sing at the table at karaoke and sometimes dance with the ladies. Edward served in the US Navy during WWII. He then worked for Bell Helicopter for many years in New York and then in California until retirement in the 1980s. His wife Dorothy preceded him in death in 1998. He lived in Parkland for many years.
