Obituary of Charles Lawrence Bingham

58 and feeling great! Charles Lawrence Bingham on March 18, 1952 was born on the Salmon Idaho River to Charles and Omia Bingham. His father was 59 and his mother, 40 at the time, both were homesteaders. His father passed when Charles was only nine months old. His mother delivered mail on horseback for the Pony Express. She gave birth to three children Betty, Mary and Charles; all of which were nine years apart. The family relocated to Tacoma, WA, so Omia could go to school and become an LPN at St. Joseph. Charles spent his entire life growing up in Tacoma, WA. He attended Whitman Elementary, Stewart Middle, graduated from Lincoln High and went to the University of Puget Sound for college. Charles was a scholar along with an athlete, excelling in football and track and field. Charles graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in 1974. Over the last 34 years of his life, he dedicated his time to teaching coaching football and track and field at Chief Leschi, U.P.S., and in the Tacoma School District. On March 19, 2010, Charles left behind his beloved wife Teresa, sons Chacod and Charles, daughters Brande and Mari, grandsons Brown Bear and Jeremiah. Along with numerous more family and friends from the lives he touched over the years. He will be missed by many! Viewing at 9:30 a.m. and funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Indian Fellowship will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, 5212 70th St. West, Tacoma, WA 98467. (across the street from Mt. Tahoma High School) More information to arrive shortly.
