Obituary of Nancy Louise Wyman

Nancy Wyman (nee Russell) was born July 18, 1958 in Burbank, CA. She was the third child and only daughter of Deane A. and Lois J. (nee Lux) Russell. Nancy had four brothers, Syd, John, Robert and William. She is also survived by her son, Jake Wyman (18), mother, Lois Russell, nephews, Syd (Kym), Gilbert (Tracy), David (Adrianne), and Eric Russell and niece Jessica Russell, stepchildren Mark and Trisha Wyman. Nancy was a great aunt to Cody, Kyle, Vivian, Anthony and Tyson and a grandmother to Trisha's children, MacKenzie and Madison. Many cousins and aunts and uncles also survive her. Her father and brother, John, preceded Nancy in death. Nancy had a strong work ethic, working twenty years at Airborne until the sale to DHL. After helping with the transition, Nancy went to work for Transgroup, a shipping company. She worked there for 8 years until beginning her courageous battle with lung cancer in February 2009. Her employer's understanding and humanity during this difficult time was always appreciated by Nancy, and the family would like to thank them for their humanity. Nancy's fight with her disease began when she beat the odds March 15, 2009, surviving renal failure following her first chemo treatment, ironically walking out of St Joe's Hospital on April Fool's Day. Leave it to Nancy to beat the 90 % mortality the doctor's gave her and then stick it to them on April Fool's Day! She was well enough to travel to Billings, Montana in May on a final road trip with her longest and oldest friends, Linda and Debbie, to watch her pride and joy, son Jake, graduate Shepherd High School. She sacrificed her happiness and sent Jake to live with his father, Randy Wyman, to finish school in Billings. She witnessed the fruits of her sacrifice on that trip, watching Jake walk. Linda and Debbie will cherish the memories of this final journey they shared with their long time friend. Jake, and his girlfriend, Meghan, surprised Nancy with a visit beginning August 7th. With the cooperation of the Covington Multi-Care Oncology, Jake was able to enjoy Nancy at her best, postponing her chemo treatment until August 17th. Nancy began to fade over Labor Day, ending up at Tacoma General September 7th. Nancy went into a coma the next day and passed away peacefully on Sunday September 13th at Franciscan Hospice House. The family would like to acknowledge Dr Troy Wadsworth and the Covington Oncology Department. Nancy's Journey was made easier by the compassion show by all of the staff. It is also important to recognize the comfort that Franciscan Hospice House provided the family as Nancy's journey ended. Please come and join the Russell Family in celebrating her life, Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00pm at: Sunset Vista Condominiums Cabana (bottom of hill) 2511 S 248th St Kent, WA 98032
