Obituary of Irene Tate

Irene K. L. Tate, 88, passed away April 20, 2011 at Franciscan Hospice, University Place, WA, after a battle with pneumonia. The former Irene Hentschel was born December 16, 1922, in Frankfurt Am Main, Germany. She was a Lakewood resident for forty two years. Irene is preceded in death by husband H. Jack Tate, brother Erwin, sister Emmi. She was employed as a nurses aide at Western State Hospital from 1968 - 1984. Her hobbies included baking, specializing in cookies and cakes; crocheting and knitting; bowling; and gardening. She was a resident of Manor Care of Tacoma for the last four years. Irene is survived by a daughter, Linda, and son-in-law Donald, Berman of Columbus, Ohio. Remembrance service 10:30 am Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Manor Care of Tacoma, 5601 S. Orchard Street. Vicar James A. Matthews, from Grace Lutheran Church, will officiate.
