Obituary of Carol May Strickler

Carol was a proud member of the puyallup Tribe of Indians. She leaves behind Richard, ronice, Leigh, John and Talea. Her second child Carrie died of sids as an infant. She is a Grandma to 12 grandkids and Great-Grandma to seven Great Grandkids who love her so very much. Carol was born in San Diego to Dolly Young and Ivan Hogan, Carol's siblings are Beverly Arlene(preceded in death) and P. Ronald. They moved to Tacoma where Dolly's family was and she stayed until adulthood where she moved to Kelso, Washington. She moved back to Tacoma for the last ten years of her life. She loved playing Bingo at the Puyallup Tribes Bingo Hall, then onto B.J.'s Bingo when the Tribe closed it's bingo hall. When she wasnt at Bingo, she loved playing video slots at the Emerald Queen Casino. If she wasnt looking for a jackpot, she maintained her status as Air Supply's biggest fan. Highlights of her life was meeting them several times when they played concerts in Tacoma. Carol had the type of personality that made her well known and loved by many people. She also had a gift of drawing domestic and wild animals to her no matter where she went. She was proud of her heritage, a medicine woman "always in training" and she always managed to put a smile on every ones faces. She leaves behind an extensive family and an endless number of friends who love her dearly. Carol's family would like thank The Puyallup Tribes Elders Care Services for all they have done for her. There are not enough words to describe the loving care and countless hours each and every one of them gave to her. And many thanks her doctors and nurses at Takopid Medical Center. We would also like to give a special thanks to Dorris Peters, a beautiful Spiritual Healer, whom our mom loved very much.
