Mommy, not an hour has gone by that I haven't thought about you and yet all of my memories are happy ones. You were the life, the breath and soul of our family and mother to so many. Every day I think of the fun and silly grandmother you could be and the nurturing, worrying, caring Mom that I needed so desperately. You taught me how to be the best person I could be and to know what true love really is. I will never be able to tell you how much I love and miss you. I hope that some day I can be even half the person that you were. I am so firtunate to have had such a wonderful angel as my mom.

It has been an honor to know Edith during the past decade. Her love and compassion for others has been an enduring trait that I will never forget. Her commitment to education is evident in the lives of her children and those she served. She blessed others by sharing with others her amazing cooking skills. Her unfailing love for her husband, Louis strikes deep in my heart. She gave her all for the virtues in life that will endure forever. Her stories of growing up in the deep south and raising her family in Chicago have left an enduring impression on me. I will miss her.

If we are fortunate we have the chance to tangentially know someone who makes significant differences in a few lives. In this case, I am extremely blessed to have a true Warrior of God as a member of my family. Edith has truly touch the lives of so so so many. She has brought some to Christ and made some already believers even closer to the Lord. The role of the family is often spoken of however with Edith she lived it. When I moved from home to live in Chicago she truly made it a "Home" away from Home. I had mamas cooking, and ear to listen, sound advise, and on Sundays I got both a good dose of religion and a family feast. While our lights here on earth have dimmed, there is one new brilliant star in heaven shining and watching over us. Her body will me missed but her SPIRIT will be with me always.

Mrs. Early and Family I am sorry to hear of your lost. I can say that I understand. I lost my mother/grandmother a year ago on March 20th and my life has not been the same. However, what has gotten me through is knowing that she lived the life of an angel and her living was not invane. If your mother was anything like you and I sure she was, she too was an angel and is now in heaven smiling because of who you have become. Respectfully,
