Every 7 or 8 years Dad would paint our 100 year old Victorian home. I waited for weeks for the scaffolding and him to reach my second story bedroom window. I wanted to open the window and chat with him while he worked. He had another idea, he wanted to "talk me out" onto the scaffolding with him. I was scared beyond belief but did it anyway. I felt completely safe, VERY loved and learned a lot about trust that day. It was fun too! I love you Dad!! If you have a special memory about Dad you'd like to share we would love hearing it. Thank you, The Smith Family

My deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers go to the Smith family. Gene was a very good man. Kind, caring, full of love and fun to be with. I will miss him but will not forget the love, memories and stories we shared since we first met when I began dating his only daughter Anna in 1979.

Uncle Eugene's family, I was sorry to hear about Uncle Eugene's passing. We are wintering in Texas but my brother Bob called us yesterday to give us the sad news. I will never forget my visit about 35 years ago--Gene Jr was showing off his pet tarantula and when he let it out of the cage, it scooted very rapidly across the coffee table and onto the floor. All of us were screaming--especially Uncle Eugene!!We all took off running out of the living room.Eventually Gene Jr. caught the critter. What a fun visit. Gene
