Obituary of Charles Stann Sicade
Charles Stann Sicade Jr.
Passed on February 3rd, 2012 in Spanaway, Washington.
Born in Tacoma, Washington in August of 1924, he lived in the Tacoma area until he was drafted into the Army in 1943. He subsequently moved to the Army Air Corps and served until the end of WWII. He met Wilma Butler while training at Great Bend in Kansas and they married in 1945. After the war they returned to Tacoma where he worked as a Transit Driver and then in the Navy Yard at Bremerton. He worked as a civilian for the Navy in various places around the country and retired from civil service in 1978.
He worked a series of jobs for government contractors until his final retirement in 1992. Stann and Wilma moved to Spanaway where they enjoyed time with their family and friends.
Stann, a member of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilma, their children Charles Stann Sicade III of Puyallup, Rob Sicade of Bainbridge Island, and Lynn Sicade of Maryland, 2 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. Stann enjoyed a healthy, long life until recently, when he succumbed to lung cancer. He will be buried at Cushman Cemetery on the Puyallup Tribal grounds on Friday, February 10th . Services will be held at the Tribal Elders Building at 11 am. The family greatly appreciates your kind thoughts and prayers, but gifts and donations are not necessary.
