Obituary of Carol Ann Scheuneman

Carol Ann DeLaire Champney Scheuneman, 80, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on May 27, 2008. Carol was born on September 10, 1927, in St. Regis Falls, New York to Paul and Dorothy DeLaire. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, B. Wayne Scheuneman, her brother, Roger DeLaire, and her sons, Ron Champney and David Champney. Carol is survived by her children, Donna Hinders, Kenn (Susan) Champney, Mary El'Lena (Ronnie) Collins, Roger (Carol) Champney, Kim (Lou) Goslee, Wayne (Susan) DeLaire, Carol (Jeff) Focht, and Carrie (Whitney) Marsh, her sister, Linda (Bob) Rieck, seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Carol will be remembered as being a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Carol had a great sense of humor. She loved to cook and most every night, she would have a fresh baked dessert for her family. She was a country girl at heart and loved telling stories of growing up in St. Regis Falls, including ice skating on the lake in winter, helping on the farm, roller skating, picking berries, singing to get into movies, and visiting Grandma and Grandpa DeLaire. She had a close relationship with our Lord and is now at peace walking with Him. Carol was a very special person who touched many lives and will be dearly missed by those who loved her, especially her children. Memorial services will be held for family and friends at 2:00 PM on May 31, 2008, at Oakwood Hill Funeral Chapel located at 5210 South Alder Street, Tacoma, Washington, 253-473-2900.
