Obituary of Marvin G. Rhodes

Marvin G. (Marv) Rhodes was born in Rising City, NE on March 14, 1921 and entered the Eternal Kingdom on January 5, 2010. Marv was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Evenger) Rhodes and his 5 brothers. Mary is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Jean Evenger and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to being known as a great mandolin player, Marv owned the Classic Barber Shop at South 56th & M Street for 17 years before retiring in 1983. Prior to his career as a barber, Marv worked at the former West Tacoma Newsprint plant in Steilacoom. Marv was also a life member of VFW Post 91. A memorial service will be held at Sunset Bible Church, 8004 44th Street W. (44th & Sunset) University Place, WA at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2010. Donations may be made in Marv's memory to the Tacoma Pierce Humane Society.
