Oscar W. Qunell
"Gone Clamming"
On December 15, 2007, at the age of 84, Oscar W. Qunell left us to join Irene, his wife of 49 years In Heaven. Oscar was born July 9, 1923 in Moxee City, WA to Napoleon and Anna Quesnelle. He was the 8th child of 9. He attended Marquette High School and later joined the Navy to serve in WWII and the Korean Conflict. During this time he met and married his devoted wife, Irene Trenkenschuh and together they settled in Midland, WA, where they raised their 5 children. Oscar loved his occupation as a master carpenter for well over 60 yrs. He also enjoyed his cows, fishing, camping, a good game of poker, clam digging, and loved a Polka. But his true passion was his family and many friends. Oscar is survived by his children Sharon (Ron), Wayne (LouAnn), Eunice, Robert (Lynda) and Patrick. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his 5 brothers and 3 sisters. We would like to give special thanks to our Uncle Eddy for his years of devotion and friendship he gave our father. Rosary and viewing will be Fri., Dec. 21 at 7:00pm with the Funeral Mass to be given Sat., Dec. 22, 11:00am, both of which will be held at St. John of the Woods Catholic Church, 9903 24th Ave E., Tacoma, WA.
