Maxine Mary Parks
Maxine Mary Parks was born on March 31, 1932 in Stockton, CA and passed away on September 30, 2009. She lived her life full of passion and truly touched each and everyone she came in contact with. Her witty sense of humor will be remembered for years to come.
Maxine was a dedicated active member of the Jehovah's Witness for the past 32 years. In 1992, she retired from her position as a riveter from the Boeing Company where she worked for 35+ years. She enjoyed music and during her personal time she spent a lot of time in the great outdoors actively camping, gardening, and fishing.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Helen & George Shields and siblings Marcella & Malcolm Parks.
She was a devoted mother to her 5 children and 9 grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters Helen Taylor & Lithia Johnson and three sons Franklin & Marvin White and Jernay Cheatham. Grandchildren Rhonda, Tina, Carmen, and Jessika. Great-grandchildren Jasmine, Jessie Mae, and Jasmyn. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at The Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home located at 5436 South Puget Sound Ave., Tacoma, WA 98409. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on October 10, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness located at 2308 S. Cushman, Tacoma, Washington 98405.
