Obituary of Robert E. Leonard

Robert E. Leonard, born in Sibley, IA to Eldon & Fay (Mercer) Leonard, Bob attended Sibley community schools. While in High School Bob was a superior athlete and received many basketball awards. After High School he joined the United States Air Force and served his country with pride. He continued his education and later received his MBA. He began his career with Boeing Company in California. Boeing transferred Bob to Seattle, WA in 1975, to Athens, Greece in 1979 and later returned back to Seattle in 1984 where he completed his career with Boeing at the age of 55 to pursue his second profession at playing golf. Bob has been an active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Tacoma, WA. He served on the Board for two years holding the position of Treasurer with his dear partner Merrilee Pangis. Bob fought a courageous battle with cancer for five months and died peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital with his family and friends by his side. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Mary, daughters, Jean, Mrs. Anthony Rocco of ABQ, New Mexico, Kimberly Leonard of Federal Way, WA., one grand-daughter Alicia Rocco, of Plano, TX., one brother Marvin Leonard, of ST. James, MN. George and Kathy Eghinis, Nikolaos and Patricia Eggink and numerous nieces, nephews God children, and many other relatives and friends.
