Obituary of Yvonne M. Impellizzeri
"Angel Face"
Yvonne was born in Lisbon, Portugal, the youngest of thirteen children. She was the last of her siblings to pass away. She met her husband, Silvio, on a blind date in 1947 in Portugal while he was on vacation from Lajes Air Force Base in Terceira, Azores. After they married on May 20, 1948 they moved to the Azores. She lived there until 1977 when they moved to Tacoma, Washington to be near their daughter Sylvia. She fell in love with Visitation Catholic Church and found many friends there. She was known for walking down the aisles at Church after communion and shaking hands all the way back to her pew. She liked to help out with the rummage sales every year. Her passion was singing her Portuguese "Fados" while her husband Silvio played guitar. They recorded much of their singing on cassettes. She loved to sing at Church also. Her husband died Feb. 21, 2006 after 58 years of marriage. She moved in with her daughter and grandsons in 2007. She enjoyed many waffle and peach breakfasts, her favorite food. She passed away at St. Joseph Hospital from natural causes on March 24, 2009. Sylvia, Yvonne Michelle, Robert, Michael, Kenneth, Walter, Alex, Bev, Josh and many friends will miss her.
Rosary will be Monday, March 30, 2009 at 10:30, service at 11:00 at Visitation Catholic Church. Potluck reception to follow.
