Harvey Harold Hetrick
Harvey Hetrick, 78, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on January 29, 2012. Harvey was born in Tacoma on August 19, 1933. He attended Horace Mann Elementary, Stewart Junior High, and Lincoln High. At Lincoln, he lettered with the Rifle Club.
After serving in the Army 1953-56, he returned to Tacoma, and under the G.I. Bill he graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a B.A. in Business in 1960. He married his college sweetheart, Donna Ames, November 28, 1958.
After graduation, he settled in his hometown for the rest of his life. He made a career from his early interest as a draftsman, which he utilized at various local cabinet manufacturing firms, retiring from Westmark Products in 1996.
Harvey was a long-time member and Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he sang tenor in the choir and he was a Sunday school teacher.
He died in his sleep, Sunday, January 29th. He is survived by his wife, Donna, and his three grown children, Leland (Betty), Kathleen, and Douglas. He is also survived by eight cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at Peoples Retirement Community for the care they provided Harvey.
A Memorial Celebration will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 11 am, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5236 East B Street (54th & E. B St.), Tacoma, WA 98404. Remembrances may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
