Obituary of Pauline Sarah Ginnis

Pauline passed away in the early morning hours of July 19th, due to complications from her battle with cancer. It is with heavy hearts, and open eyes that we say goodbye to our loving mother, wife, sister and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Alex Ginnis. Pauline had 6 children, George, Linda, Joe, Rebecca, Nancy and Alex. She was predeceased by her daughter Rebecca, whom she always wished to be reunited with. She was a doting, wonderful grandmother to 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Our entire family will never be the same. She was a guiding light to many, and a beacon of hope for all of us to follow during our darkest hours. Pauline was born on April 30th, 1924, in Omar. West Virginia. Our nana had a storied past, marked along the way with many outstanding achievements. These include volunteering her time with the March of Dimes Organization, Amvets and Sisters of Penelope (just to name a few). She loved to go gambling with her husband, and enjoyed many wonderful vacations with her friends and family. Much of her time was dedicated to caring for others. Pauline has touched the hearts of everyone around her for many years. We know she is at peace, resting comfortably beside all of her loved ones who have passed before her. She has left our lives vacant, the firm, infectious love that we once knew will be sorely missed. We will always love and miss you, our beautiful nana. It is our privilege to honor Pauline with a trisagio (wake) to be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, July 23rd at Piper-Morley-Mellinger Chapel. Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on Fri., July 24th at 11:30am. She will be laid to rest next to her daughter at New Tacoma Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Philoptochosphil (Philanthropic society) of St. Nicholas Church. www.pipermorleymellingerfh.com.
