Obituary of Leslie B. Fulghum
Our beloved Leslie Fulghum was born on March 12, 1943. She was the 4th of 14 children of Charles Hilyard and Celia Harps Hilyard.
She married Curtis Fulghum in 1963 and together they raised four children: Carmen (Fulghum) Best, John Fulghum, Curtis Fulghum Jr. and Celia Fulghum and have seven grandchildren.
Leslie loved the Lord and was devoted to church and family. She read her bible and knew the word of God and lived by that word, which she shared with everyone.
Leslie spent much of her life taking care of others, especially children. Her home was a haven for children. She provided care for her many mieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and grandchildren.
Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes and those who knew her will remember her vegetable garden. Leslie also grew a multitude of flowers in her plant beds. Later in life she became ill, but she fought the good fight until the Lord called her home on February 12, 2010.
Leslie is survived by 9 brothers and sisters: Georgia Brinson, James Hilyard, Rosie Lewis, Otis Hilyard, Virginia Hankins, Tom Hilyard, Chester Hilyard, Norman Hilyard, and Lorenzo Hilyard as well as an abundance of family and friends.
She will be missed.
Her service will be at Holiness Chapel, 8801 34th Avenue South, Lakewood, WA 98499 on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
