Obituary of Dan Edward Franks

Dan Edward Franks, 85, of Tacoma passed away on December 1, 2011. Born January18, 1926 in Council Bluffs, Iowa he served in the Navy during WWII and moved to Tacoma in 1952. He loved to cook and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of Visitation Parish for many years and very active in the Holy Name Society and Men's Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy. Surviving him are one brother, Raymond Franks, three daughters, Karen Brasch, Marie Larson, and Cindy Schimling, son Dan Franks, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his long-time companion Adele Elrod and her family. Services will be held at Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home, 5436 South Puget Sound Ave., Tacoma, 253-472-3353, on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
