Obituary of Jesse Wallace Fisher
In Loving Memory of Jesse Wallace Fisher Jr. June 2, 1942 - January 6, 2009
Jesse was born in Parker, AZ and raised in Oakland, CA. He attended school/ college in New Mexico and New Mexico University for two years. Jesse began his work experience as the Director of CETA and JTPA. In addition, he was on the tribal council with the Colorado River Indian Tribes. Jesse located in the Pacific Northwest in September of 1990 as TERO Director for the Puyallup Tribe. Jesse has received many awards for his accomplishments in the workplace for job training including two Governor's awards from Governor Bruce Babbitt. Even with all of the accolades of his achievements, Jesse was a soft spoken and humble personality, passionate about the things he cared about. He was never arrogant and always was respectful to the needs and feelings of others. He demonstrated a stellar work ethic, setting an example through leadership, to his peers and subordinates.
Jesse will remembered for his sweet humble spirit and caring heart, especially with regards to his ethnic responsibilities in the Native American Communities including affiliations with tribes in Arizona and Washington. He was a leader that embraced the challenges of mentoring the adults and youth and training them for life of giving back to the community. He also focused on enabling them to realize their full potential in the educational and employment arenas.
Anyone fortunate enough to enjoy Jesse's presence in their lives were drawn to his enthusiasm, positive attitude, and his "no nonsense" approach to problem solving. His eye was always on the end product of any commitment he had in his life. Those that were blessed with his presence on a personal level enjoyed his love of football and sports, movies, his never ending curiosity about life and the quiet gentle spirit that warmed their lives anytime they were with him. Jesse was truly one of a kind that will be an eternal warm spot in the heavenly host. He will be truly missed by all he came in contact with.
He is survived by the commitment closet to his heart, his wife of twenty two years, Myrna Fisher, his five children; Jesse Fisher III, Leonarda Fisher, Janet Fisher, Estelle Fisher, step children; Earl Tucker, and Lisa Radloff, twelve siblings; Janet Goodwin of CA, Valerie Goodwin of CA, Andy Goodwin Jr. of CA, Rosemary Wind of CA, Robert Moreno of AZ, Evelyn Haro of AZ, Sugie Fisher of AZ, Eddie Fisher of AZ, Evelyn Fisher of AZ, Diana Fisher of AZ, Leroy Fisher of AZ, Rueben Fisher of AZ, several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His numerous friends were also a great importance to him and he always had time to sit and chat with them. He will be greatly missed by all, but the warmth of his love and spirit remains in all to give strength and support in the difficult task of saying good-bye on this day. His spiritual presence will sustain them through the dark and difficult days ahead.
Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved parents Charlotte and Jesse W. Fisher Sr., son Parrish Fisher, grandson Parrish Fisher Jr. and brother Gary Fisher, all of AZ.

I am Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that place at the closed of the day
If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunrise of tomorrow My life's been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief God wanted me now, He set me free.
A special thank you to Lisa Melendez, Gina LaPointe, Roleen Hargrove and the Puyallup Tribe for their support and hard work in assisting with Jesse's final goodbye from all of his loving family and friends.
Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. There we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:5-8
