Obituary of Wilbert Lawrence Felton

Wilbert Lawrence Felton was born February 23, 1954 to Will and Charlotte Felton in Denton TX. He passed away peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus Christ on May 2, 2011 at home in Lakewood, WA after enduring his battle with cancer. Wilbert is preceded in death by his grandparents, father, Will Felton of Gainesville, TX, two brothers, Eddie Felton and Joseph Felton of Lawton, OK. He is survived by his mother Charlotte Felton, Lawton, Ok, two daughters, Tamika Felton, Lakewood, WA, Wenisha Felton, Tacoma, WA, three grandsons Joseph Felton, Jkai Randall and Javiar Felton of Langston, OK; devoted friend, Judith Harris, Lakewood, WA, brother Winston Felton, Lawton, OK; five sisters, Sarah Terry , Gainesville, TX, Bobbie Bouchard, Lawton, OK, Mattie Tate, Tamarac, FL, Lavonna Young, Leavenworth, KS and Pamela Spencer of Deerfield, FL; two aunts Charlesatte Williams, Lawton, OK, Lenora Russell, Lawton, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Wilbert attended school in Gainesville, TX and graduated from Mac Arthur High School Lawton, OK in 1972. He joined the Marines in 1972 and served in Special Forces and as Military Police. In 1985 Wilbert moved to Tacoma, WA and was employed in various positions including asbestos abatement with several companies in the area. He started a landscaping company Totally Custom Lawns in 2007 and dissolved it in 2009 because of health reasons. He also attended Tacoma Community College and completed study at World Christianship Ministries to be ordained Minister on December 25, 2008. Wilbert was truly a humble servant that loved our Lord Jesus Christ, fishing, football, landscaping, serving at St. Leo's Food Bank and helping anyone in need. He was a "Man of Faith" who trusted in the Lord with his whole heart and treated people with dignity and respect. He is a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Tacoma, WA and Pathway to Maturity Men's Association of Washington and Oregon.
