Obituary of James G. Elsner

Son of Walter L. and Phyllis M. Elsner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis, and is survived by his children Philip (25), Jonathon (23) and Jessica (19); his siblings Louise Dick (John), Kathleen Elsner-Madsen, Michael (Jody), and Patricia Bartell; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jim was born in Chehalis, Washington. The family moved to California in 1958 and lived in Fullerton and Walnut Creek before returning to Washington in 1964. Jim attended first through eighth grade at St. Francis Cabrini Elementary. He attended Hudtloff Junior High for ninth grade and then went on to Clover Park High School and graduated from Clover Park in 1976. Jim worked in the food sales and distribution field. He worked with his father for a number of years at the Associated Grocers Cash and Carry in Tacoma. He also worked for Bargreen and Ellingson Restaurant Supply and Inderbitzin Distributors. Problems with his back led him to leave the food service industry. He held a variety of jobs after that until he went on disability due to his back problems. Jim loved cars, music (he played the piano), Star Trek, and the outdoors. He loved to go camping, fishing and even did a little hunting. He had a large collection of Star Trek memorabilia and also had collections of many other things. He will be missed his family and friends. Services will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Church, in Lakewood, on Monday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. The address of the church is 5505 108th St. SW, Lakewood, WA.
