Obituary of Janett Eddings

Janett Eddings was born on July 5, 1947 in Shelby North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on April 26, 2012 at Madigan Army Medical Center, JBLM. Janett grew up in Kannapolis, North Carolina and served 16 years in the United States Marine Corps, while serving on active duty and reserve commitment. Janett was one of the first African American women to join the military during the civil rights era. She worked with the Martin Luther King Junior Center where she advocated for homeless individuals in need of medication. Janett later went to work for Madigan Army Medical Center where she was a Medical Specialist Assistant for seven years. Janett loved the Lord, her family and friends. Janett was a member of Grace Gospel Service where she took part in the survivors outreach ministry. Janett was a passionate, nurturing and caring individual who was always helping others. Those who came in contact with her will miss her captivating smile. She was straight forward with a funny sense of humor. Her children will miss hearing her favorite words of wisdom "Make Good Decisions." She was preceded in death by Crawley Dawkins (Father) and Tommy Dawkins (Brother). Left to cherish her memories are Edward J. Eddings (Husband), Crystal D. Eddings (Daughter), Paris J. Eddings, Jr. (Daughter), Tiant J. Eddings (Son), Grandchildren Ishmael Mason, Jakeel Mason, Tiandra Eddings, Sarai Dillard, Great-grandchild Somaya Mason, Claudette Jones (Sister), Bernester Dawkins (Sister) and Johnny Dawkins (Brother).
