Perry passed surrounded by his family, after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Born in Tacoma, he graduated from Stadium High School in 1949. While attending the College of Puget Sound, Perry met the love of his life, Jackie. They lived at Lake Tapps for 44 years. Perry was Father to Steve, Jackie Lynn, Dan, Peri Sue and Elaine. He was preceded in Death by parents Steve and Helen, brother John, son Dick and grandson Christopher. Perry has ten grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. He was a member of the Cement Masons, Local 528, where those fortunate enough to work with him, both respected and admired his work ethic and knowledge. He was a mentor to many, with a gift of spreading joy to all with either his soft glances or gentle words. Perry was also a life-long member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and served on its Board of Directors for many years. A great lover of the outdoors, Perry enjoyed fishing in Alaska and annual hunting trips where many a fireside story was shared. He especially enjoyed sharing the harvest of his large garden and his winemaking with Christopher and Jason. Trisagion (Vigil Services) will be held 5:00 p.m. Friday; Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17th, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 1523 S. Yakima, Tacoma. Graveside services immediately following at the Tacoma Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church or the American Cancer Society in the name of Perry Dionas.
